Brine Ponds Project

Geography: Southern Saskatchewan
Industry: Oil & Gas
Materials: Geo-Composite, Geonet, 60 mil, Conductive 60 mil
Duration: 3 Months Spring / Summer Construction

Project Description

The project consisted of a multi-layer, double pond system to contain salt cavern brine.  High winds and sandy conditions added extra steps to ensure the liners were installed safely and with high quality. Complex QA/QC measures were required as this project involved both conductive liner and an ultra-sonic leak test to ensure a zero-leakage rate.   3rd party testing was a must for this scope of work.

outcome

ECI was able to provide a 10-person crew for the entire duration of this project by carefully coordinating the turn around to meet all regulations to perform the project safely with zero incidents. The project was completed on schedule and on budget.

lessons learned

As with other large projects, this one again proved that a Tier 1 GC/Liner team allows for successful projects. Contact ECI to learn more about defining and selecting Tier 1 industrial contractors.
